Alpaca Fleece Processing |
Farrlacey Mill in Lincolnshire, processes fleeces - primarily Alpaca fleeces, Llama and sheep fleeces, but also goat and even dog coats can be processed in the same way to make rovings and yarn.
This family run business, who have appeared in BBC2's 'Escape to the Country' and who's alpaca duvet was included in Blighty's 'Made in Britain', care about the the methods they use to process the fleeces.
Once your fleeces have been processed they can be then used |
|
| to produce alpaca duvets, pillow, wool, rovings or simply woven. It is worth considering amongst other things, the colour of your fleeces before you decide what type of items to make from them. |
Processing Your Fleeces |
If you have not used our mill before then please have a good look around our site. One really important point is to always clean your fleece by removing grass and twigs before you send it to us, in this way you will get a better quality of yield, see our section on best yield for further information.
Please follow our guidelines for sending fleeces to ensure that |
|
| they reach us in the same condition that they left you.
If you would like your fleeces turned into clothing or accessories but are not a knitter yourself, we can arrange for this to be undertaken by a group of hand knitters we use. |
